“Donna Winn – From The Soul”

When talking to Donna about her inspirations and her work, you soon realize that she has stories to tell about each of her paintings. How they came to be, and how they evolved. Each work representing a small part of her personal journey, her inner world.

From her soul

Initiating from her soul, her artwork is often related to either what Donna Winn observes or how/what she feels emotionally. Textures, values, lines, and shapes are chosen depending on what the painting is about. Communicating a specific (cultural) message or a certain feeling in need of being expressed. “Then when it’s all done, I can be surprised. Where did that all come from? That’s that magical moment when it all just flows.”

Not afraid of being different from most, Donna’s aspirations lay with wanting to be at the base of something new. A new approach. She tells me “I like to inspire people to open themselves to something different.”

Music by singer/songwriter Murray Rodgers

Singer/songwriter Murray Rodgers will be performing from his new CD “I’m A Shoe”; a wonderful collection of original bluesy pop songs, recorded right here in the area. Cover for the CD was designed by Try it ART artist, Bernhard Cociancig.

Raising funds for the Bragg Creek Community Center

As with each Try it ART exhibition, we are fundraising for a local non-profit. This time we thought it was suiting to help raise funds for the Bragg Creek Community Center.

Small artworks, donated by various local and international artists will be for sale for the duration of the exhibit. Full proceeds (100%) will benefit this deserving local cause.
