Silk Scarf, a colourful figurative painting
“Wrapping her tears around herself, she danced for the sheer bliss of the movement. Soft and blurred as she was, her dreams sparkled as if they had just been shaken free from her soul. Her love of life, of thought, of her existence shimmering and beautiful, bared for all to see, whether they appreciated and agreed with it or not.” Silk Scarf, a colourful figurative artwork, relating to pure feminine emotions.
Magdalena’s Morey’s figurative work
Magdalena Morey’s figurative work focuses on the representation of the feminine form. These paintings are not intended to be self-portraits rather are an expression of her own internal states of being. The development of each artwork is somewhat akin to participating in a film where Magdalena is both the subject and the director. The figure grows, moves and develops continually until Magdalena reaches a point where she feels the composition has captured something fundamental about her perceived reality.
The end result
Sometimes the end result may be highly dynamic and playful, concentrating on the representation of motion. Or it can be more static and thoughtful, with an added focus on the use of color and texture. Magdalena tends to stick to the abstract form for the majority of each painting but includes one or two more realistic areas, such as a breast or the navel.
