“Psychedelic Vintage Flowers” by French contemporary artist, Fabienne Monestier
The exuberant semi-abstract floral subject of “Psychedelic Vintage Flowers” is inspired by the charming wallpapers from back in the days. The “floral seedlings” that were fashionable then, are revisited with the modern “pop” touch of acid colors. It is a perfect fit for this decorative and original format; the circular canvas, or tondo, is a painting format used in previous centuries.
The floral subject lends itself well to the vivid gesture and artistic expression. With the details of forms, and pure, saturated colors which represent the natural vegetal profusion. Spontaneous, “Baroque” and lively, mixing impressionistic and contemporary painting styles.
The edges are painted white, and the canvas is stapled on the back. “Psychedelic Vintage Flowers” does not require framing.
