“Night Moves” by Colombia-based artist Charley Jones
For “Night Moves”, Charley combines portraiture with abstraction to convey a memory of a cinematic moment on a journey at a bus stop at night where he witnessed an Indian woman amidst the backdrop of a mountain range and a red poncho (shawl). This created a feeling of transition for the artist, strong realization, and beauty. Ancestral prescience in a modern transitional world and life.
Rich texture, impasto mark-making, and visible brush strokes make this a characteristic painting by this talented artist. Although originally from the United Kingdom, Charley Jones is currently based out of Colombia.
