“In Search Of Light” by Russian-Canadian artist, Elena Myasnikova
Elena used multiple layering techniques in order to create deep hue and light effects. “In Search Of Light” is heavy due to multiple layers of resin in the finish. Sides have a mat finish, creating a delicate effect.
Elena about this work: “This painting has more physical layers (paint and resin) I could ever imagine in one work. I had one idea from the beginning – to create a feeling of light, even a distant one, enough for me to realize I have found it in the painting. I had an idea of my palette and felt the composition. It took me a few more extra months searching the feeling of light through sanding and layering my work over and over, removing and adding constantly… I was not satisfied until the very end.”
“In Search Of Light” brings along a sense of serenity and moving water. An ocean, waterfall or wintery creek. With all its layers, it has lots to discover.
Gallery wrapped and wired on the back, it does not require framing and is ready to hang.
