“Earth Mother” (2019) by Canadian acrylic artist, Lois Goodnough
Canadian acrylic artist, Lois Goodnough, uses negative and reductive painting techniques when she creates her figurative and floral artwork. Through an initial intuitive process, followed by a deliberate phase, these negative painting techniques expose the woman figure.
Goodnough on “Earth Mother”: “I applied gold relief for added texture. The rich earth tones of the palette inspired its title.”
This work is wired on the back and is ready to hang. With the sides painted, it does not require framing.
