“Dance of the Rag Dolls” (2019) by acrylic artist, Lois Goodnough
Acrylic artist, Lois Goodnough, uses negative and reductive painting techniques when she creates her figurative and floral artwork. Through an initial intuitive process, followed by a deliberate phase, these negative painting techniques expose the two woman figuratives.
Goodnough on “Dance of the Rag Dolls”: “I intended to create movement with these ladies, so I portrayed their arms as in a dance. With their floppy headpieces and calico looking design, they seemed like rag dolls to me.”
This work is wired on the back and is ready to hang. With the sides painted, it does not require framing.
