Character -7- by Vancouver artist, Pepe Hidalgo
Pepe Hidalgo on his series “Characters”: “The characters are strange, popular, and young. My idea is to represent different characters in a small space, with the intention of putting different aspects of the face within the same image.” Hidalgo explains that everyone was surprised when Picasso painted two eyes on the same part of his face. “I understand that it was the solution to the representation of movement. With some of my characters, I try to soften this expression of movement by focusing on the face from two different angles.”
With the sides painted, framing is not required and it is ready to hang.
