Shulka's Social Club: Martín imagines to one day establish a social community of artists and art-, food-, and wine lovers. We get a vivid, very detailed, description during our meeting with this Lima, Peru born artist.
Martín, or Shulka, as he likes to call himself, is many things: musician, photographer, advocate for the Hispanic community, but most of all he describes himself as a human being. And a very considerate one. Humble, and accepting, doing his best to let go of criticism, and his urge to control a process and its outcome, his very unique artwork evolving along with him.
You can read more about our meeting with Shulka in San Francisco, California here.
Shulka also has a wide collection of photographs and is always available for commissioned work. If you are interested, please contact us for more information.
Martín's bioMartín Revolo, "Shulka", is a self-taught artist, born in Lima, Peru. Currently based in San Francisco, CA, self-assertion and expression of principle are important components of Martín's artistic life.
ShulkaConnections between his art and his early life are always present. For the artist "Shulka", the inner necessity is still the basis and source of nourishment for his art. He resides in all of his work. Though the viewer may take a different meaning from his images, all have experienced a part of the narrative that is the artist "Shulka" himself.

"My work travels through an experimental release of spontaneous energy; I consider this experience to be my art. The physical object is the result at the end of the journey. This experimentation leads to new technical and conceptual processes, as I am always pushing the boundaries of traditional painting and printmaking."
"In my attempt to tell a story I create imagery that is both real and surreal laced in fantasy. The story continues to grow as I rely on my conscious and subconscious to create and transfer those thoughts to an image. It is from that process that I find myself being most present in me."
