  • The colourful works of Maciej Cieśla

A modern contemporary painter, the colourful artistic works of Maciej Cieśla (1988, Szczecin, Poland) vary between modern expressionism and abstraction. He finds his inspiration to create in nature, folklore, and social subjects.

    Impaired eyesight

While going through art school, Maciej was diagnosed with hereditary Stargardt’s disease. Facing impaired eyesight, Maciej stayed true to his calling and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław with an MA degree in painting and sculpture. Maciej studied under the supervision of Piotr Błażejewski, a well-known watercolour painter and architect from Szczecin.

Between 2013 and 2016 Maciej worked out his characteristic style, which comprises of modern expressionism, neo-fauvism, symbolism, and abstraction. His work shown in a variety of galleries in Warsaw, Maciej’s talent is recognized by an increasing number of art professionals.

    Meet the Artist

We will visit Maciej in his studio in Poland in May of 2019. A "Meet the Artist" blog will follow soon thereafter. For now, we trust you'll enjoy the works we have curated for our collection.
